There was a study that was started and then dropped a few years back about the feasibility of using fuel-air explosives to "defuse" hurricanes before they reached massive proportions by detonating an explosive in the eye of the hurricane of such magnitude as to completely collapse the pressure system.

Problem was, no one wanted to actually put money into saying "Let's go chase hurricanes and drop GIGANTIC bombs into them to see what'll happen!"

Now I actually wonder... hmm. I'll be in the lab.
